Optimizing Windows 10 for Gaming Performance

There are a few things you can do to squeeze more performance out of your Windows 10 System. Windows 10 by default doesn't really set the best settings for gaming which isn't really optimal for us.

1.Update your drivers

Now, Windows 10 has a way of updating your drivers that I personally haven't found much success when gaming only using the updating tools that come with Windows 10. So, the solution? Install a free or paid driver installation software. Driver installation programs have huge databases of drivers for all types of hardware and automatically try to find the best drivers for your system. You can google many driver update tools paid or not, but before wasting money on any of them I would recommend you to try Driver Booster. It's free and does a perfect job with this task.

2.Set your Windows 10 settings for performance

Windows 10, by default sets some settings to look better for the eye opposed to performance. But since we need the extra performance we will be changing this. It's quite simple.

2.1.Open your Windows Explorer

2.2.Right Click on This PC and then Properties

2.3.Click on Advanced System Settings

2.4.Click on the Advanced Tab and then Setttings in the Performance Tab

2.5.Click on the Adjust for best performance option and click Apply

3.Tinker with your Nvidia or Graphics card settings

Now, not everyone has an Nvidia graphics card but most people do, the process for other graphics card should be fairly easy to figure out or you can probably google it.

3.1. Right Click on Desktop and Choose Nvidia Settings

3.2. Click on the Adjust Image settings with preview tab

3.3 Choose "Use my preference emphasizing" and drag the scroll to performance and click Apply

4. Edit 3D settings

Another thing you can do , and this provides the most performance is go to the "Manage 3D settings" tab and under Global Settings set all of these individual settings to Highest Performance. Don't worry, you can't really break anything and you can always restore these settings to default with the press of a button.
