A decent amount of people seem to run into this problem.
Say you bought a monitor but it doesn't have a HDMI port, or your HDMI port is not working for some reason. Or vice versa. Your PC's HDMI port is not working.
I've had this problem before and it was quite annoying since my HDMI port was not working as intended. After trying to make it work for hours I gave up and looked up on the internet on how to deal with this problem. The solution I found was to get an DVI to HDMI cable.
Almost all modern PC's have a DVI port so you can just plug your HDMI port into one end and your DVI plug into the other end.
